Alright, just a heads up. The main reason I didn't do an update earlier this week was because I had a lab practical exam on Tuesday that I was studying for. After it ended, I didn't really have much to say so I figured I'd spare you guys a pointless rambling session.
Fast forward to Wednesday night. Spae & I leave the gym & I head over to Wegman's to grab a six pack of Cherry Wheat (Since they don't sell them in 12 packs).
Now here we sit at just after 1:00AM on Thursday and I seemed to have been hit with a small amount of inspiration. Maybe it's the booze, maybe it's the Buckethead - Pike 65 I'm listening to, or maybe it's the fact that I don't want to do a power rankings where I comment on every team. Whatever the case, I'd like to call my shot as to the teams I think will make the post season. Since we're pretty much at the half-way point, I figure now is as good a time as any. Plus whatever predictions I make now can't be held against me when it comes to who will win the championship since all bets are off when weeks 14, 15, & 16 take place.
So here are my post season players, in no particular order
T-Smoke - I'll be the first to admit that I didn't think his team was in any position to strike after the season began. But I'm glad to see that one of the founding members of our league is finally playing from a position of strength. Demarco Murray & Arian Foster are an incredible 1 + 2 punch at the running back position. It reminds me of my LeSean McCoy, Adrian Peterson hookup that led me to a championship last year. As long as Aaron Rodgers (the embodiment of heterosexuality) doesn't get distracted by all the laid I'm sure he's getting from Olivia Munn, this is a team that can finish in the money for the first time in league history.
Ginny - Once again, Ginny is running amok with points scoring in the regular season. In fact, he's leading the league in total points scored! The biggest reason he's only .500 is because he's had opponents put up a whopping 776.5 against him after the first six weeks of the season. Not to worry though, he'll be playing for the cup once week 14 hits. The only question is, will he finally break through or spend another year wondering what could've been.
Vic - Well, well, well. If the Lord's mercy hasn't finally blessed you with a team worthy of it's namesake. You possess the #1 quarterback, #1, wide receiver, and #1 tight end in the league. All three have a high ceiling for the amount of points they can put up each week, so it's going to be tough for anyone to bet against you as the season goes on. It's officially become a race between you, Joey, & I to see who can become the first three time league champion.
Davie - While the Matt Ryan to Julio Jones hookup has gotten flat as of late, you've still got a decent enough team to make opponents worry about playing you each week. I don't really fell like giving you too many compliments since I'm still bitter that you had your wedding take place on Yom Kippur. As a lawyer, you need to learn to have a little more respect for the high holidays.
Wadhams - A little self-serving I know, but despite Adrian Peterson's suspension due to the assault charges on his son (American's picked a helluva time to become concerned with a black child's well being), I managed to keep my head above water with a few free agent pickups and the emergence of Antonio Brown as a top tier wide receiver. Truth be told, I was as shocked as anyone when I realized I have the 4th most points scored this year.
Joey - In the words of the half Jewish, half black, Canadian rapper Drake: "Started from the bottom now my whole team fucking here". You finished in second to last place last season, and despite injuries to Calvin Johnson & A.J. Green, you're in the picture for the playoffs. If those two come back to play at their potential, it's difficult to see many teams beating you each week.
